The House of Representatives team highlighted the problem of some deceased Moroccan Muslim families colliding with the provision of cemeteries for burial, as well as the high prices of cemeteries, especially in the urban area.
In this context, the team addressed a question to Ahmed Taoufik, Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, saying that “many local communities, especially urban, suffer from the provision of a real estate container to bury the deceased Muslims, either due to lack or inability to acquire them. He added that the capacity of the cemeteries made available to them is not sufficient to find additional spaces for burial.
In order to circumvent the aggravation of the problem of the lack of cemeteries and their high cost, the parliamentary team has suggested partnerships with local authorities, allocating real estate containers and making them available, with specifications, especially that these lands are not suitable for construction. In addition, the team also proposed to allocate some land at symbolic prices and others at market prices.
On the other hand, a team questioned the Minister of Habbous and Islamic Affairs, on “the modalities of management of Muslim cemeteries, whether at the level of the provision of real estate vessels or at the level of care and maintenance so that they do not remain subject to neglect, and to preserve the honor of Muslims
