With the 12 participants, Intelcia employees, coming from 7 different countries, namely Morocco, Portugal, Cameroon, France, Madagascar, Spain and Colombia, this event was an opportunity to highlight the values of solidarity and commitment to women.
Moreover, many women in the group wanted to take part in this 100% female sporting adventure, as 70 of them applied. But to participate in this event for the promotion of women, 35 Intelcia pairs went through the same selection process as all the candidates, explains the press release.
Each of these pairs represents an association in their country and will try to win the cheque at stake at the end of the 5-day event, which takes place from 26 February to 5 March 2022 in Dakhla.
In order to reinforce its solidarity activity, Intelcia supports and sponsors an additional team in addition to the six pairs. Originally from Laayoune, “Duo M” is the name chosen by this pair, composed of two young sportswomen who carry the spirit of this competition since it is their second participation in the Sahraouiya Raid, adds the group, noting that in order to better prepare participants for the various events and strengthen their relationships, Intelcia has set up an appropriate support system from December 26.
“The essential values of solidarity and emancipation through sport that the Sahraouiya raid conveys are values anchored in the DNA of our Group, hence Intelcia’s important participation this year by sponsoring 7 teams. The support of this 100% female raid, unique in its kind, is for us obvious because it fits perfectly into our strategy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and completes the various actions that our Group carries out throughout the year in favour of the promotion and economic empowerment of women,” says Nadia Ben Bahtane, Brand & Engagement Director of Intelcia.
Rightly so, the five pillars of CSR advocated by Intelcia, namely solidarity with communities, eco-responsibility, ethics and transparency, development and well-being of employees and finally social and territorial inclusion through employment, are all consistent with the values celebrated by the Raid Sahraouiya, namely environmental responsibility, solidarity, team spirit, loyalty and commitment.
The Raid Sahraouiya is a real human adventure which, during the 8 years of its existence, has succeeded in creating a real community of solidarity with women and by women.
