Tiznit Dakhla Expressway: Work is progressing at 71%

In a statement to MAP, the chairman of the Commission said that all stakeholders are mobilized to succeed in this project which has taken important steps, stating that the overall progress of the expressway linking Tiznit to Dakhla has reached 71%.

He also noted that officials and technicians are working hard to complete the road sections and structures of this major project.

This meeting took place in the presence of the Governor of the province of Aousserd, Abderrahaman El Jaouhari, members of the delegation of the said committee, as well as local elected officials.

The work of reinforcement and widening of the National Road No. 1 to 9 meters between Laayoune and Dakhla have been completed to 100%, had announced the director of the Provisional Directorate of the development of the RN1 between Tiznit and Dakhla, Mbarek Fancha.

This site, which is part of the mega project of the expressway Tiznit-Dakhla, has mobilized a budget estimated at 900 million dirhams.

The expressway Tiznit-Dakhla, subject of a partnership agreement signed before HM King Mohammed VI in Laayoune in 2015, aims to develop a road axis with high technical standards between the southern provinces and other regions of the Kingdom, reduce transport time and improve comfort and road safety, to facilitate the transport of goods between the cities of southern Morocco and major production and distribution centers.

This large-scale project, which extends over 1,055 km and whose cost of implementation amounts to about 10 billion dhs, is a structuring lever for the economic and social development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom.

It is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun, the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and the region of Souss Massa
