More than 285,000 Moroccans were registered for social security in Spain at the end of January, according to data from the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, published Friday.
Moroccans are still at the top of the list of non-EU foreign workers paying social security contributions in Spain with 285,569, followed by the Chinese (106,549).
The total number of foreigners affiliated to the Spanish social security system reached 2,240,156 people in the first month of the year, down by 29,650 people compared to December 2021.
Of the total number of foreign workers contributing to the Spanish social security system, some 1,457,961 are from outside the European Union and 782,195 are from EU countries.
