The threat of invasion of Ukraine by Russia has raised the concern of many Moroccans, given the large number of Moroccan students in Ukraine.
Moroccan Internet users have launched an appeal on social networks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take immediate action to ensure the return of Moroccan students residing in Ukraine. The Internet users launched the hashtag “Invasion of Ukraine, save the Moroccan students”.
Note that several other countries including the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Belgium, Estonia and Lithuania have given instructions to leave Ukraine.
Russia is accused by the West of having massed tens of thousands of soldiers on the Ukrainian border and of preparing an imminent invasion of its neighbor.
The Kremlin denies any plans in this direction, while demanding written guarantees for its security, including the rejection of a membership of Ukraine in NATO and the end of the military reinforcement of the Atlantic Alliance in the East.
