A total of 634 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 4,299 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Sunday, reporting 15 new deaths.
In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry also said that the number of primary vaccinated reached 24,702,344, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,137,116, while 5,089,940 people had three injections of the vaccine.
The new toll of infections brings the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020 to 1,155,165, while the number of people recovered has risen to 1,123,370, representing a recovery rate of 97.2%.
The new cases of infection were recorded in the regions of Fez-Meknes (135), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (99), Casablanca-Settat (93), the Oriental (83), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (59), Marrakech-Safi (42), Souss-Massa (37), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (35), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (31), Draâ-Tafilalet (13) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (7).
The total number of deaths rose to 15,781 (case-fatality 1.4%), with 15 cases recorded during the last 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (3), Fez-Meknes (2), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2), Oriental (2), Marrakech-Safi (2), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (1) and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1).
Active cases numbered 16,014 while severe or critical cases reached 47 in 24 hours, bringing their total to 514. As for the occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds, it is 9.8%.
