More than 75 billion dirhams of “automobile” exports for Morocco at the end of November

Exports of the automotive sector reached 75.08 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of November 2021, up 12.8% compared to the same period of 2020, according to the Office des Changes.

This evolution is explained by the increase in sales of the construction segment of 26.2%, specifies the Office which has just published its monthly indicators of the foreign trade of November, noting that the sales of the cabling segment showed a slight fall of 1.1%.

In addition, the Office reports that the number of exported passenger cars rose by 12.8% to 317,068 vehicles at the end of November 2021.

As regards sales of phosphates and derivatives, they stood at more than 69.19 billion dirhams at the end of November 2021, up by 51.9% compared to the same period in 2020. This evolution follows the increase in sales of natural and chemical fertilizers (+14.73 billion dirhams) due to the price effect, which rose by 65.4%. The quantities exported of this product, on the other hand, have dropped by 8.6%.

The sales of the textile and leather sector stood at 33.49 billion dirhams, against 27.74 billion dirhams a year earlier. This situation is due to the increase in exports of ready-made garments (+4.08 billion dirhams), hosiery articles (+1.57 billion dirhams) and to a lesser extent shoes (+181 million dirhams).

For their part, the exports of the “Agriculture and agri-food” sector increased by 10.2%, thanks to a simultaneous increase in sales of the food industry of 3.37 billion dirhams and those of “Agriculture, forestry, hunting” of 2.27 billion dirhams.

On the other hand, the share of sales of this sector in total exports fell by 2.3 points to 21.5%, compared with 23.8% at the end of November 2020, the Office noted.
