The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces, received on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (RAF), commander of the Southern Zone.
The two sides discussed, during the meeting, the fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries, cooperation and joint coordination in military and defense fields and affairs, as well as ways to develop them, the UAE news agency Wam reported.
The General of the Army, on this occasion, conveyed the greetings of King Mohammed VI to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the wishes of the Sovereign for more health and happiness as well as progress and prosperity for the State of the United Arab Emirates and its people, the same source added.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed his greetings to His Majesty the King, wishing the Sovereign health and happiness and the Kingdom of Morocco and its brotherly people progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of the King.
During the meeting, which was attended by Major General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Issa Seif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, and the Secretary of the Cabinet of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, the two sides reviewed several issues of common interest, the agency said.
According to the same source, Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk also held talks with Lieutenant General Saleh Ben Mujren Al-Amiri, commander of joint operations at the UAE Ministry of Defense, as part of the ongoing consultation and coordination between the brothers to strengthen the contact between the two countries and lay the foundations for developed relations in the fields of military cooperation.
The Emirati official added the agency, welcomed, during this meeting, the dynamics of development of fraternal relations that unite the State of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco, highlighting the depth of fraternal relations that bind the two countries and their constant concern to strengthen them and develop bilateral cooperation in all areas, thanks to the support and concern of the leaders of the two brotherly countries.
The two sides highlighted, on this occasion, the depth of bilateral relations and the level of joint coordination between the two countries in military and defense affairs, which contribute to strengthening cooperation and collective action in the interest of both countries.
Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk, Inspector General of the RAF, commander of the southern zone, was also received at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Executive Director of the Office of Martyrs’ Families Affairs in the office of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
Upon his arrival at Wahat Al Karama, Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk reviewed a detachment of the Honor Guard and then laid a wreath of flowers in front of the Martyr’s Memorial, which consists of 31 tablets resting on top of each other, as a symbol of unity, cohesion and solidarity between the leadership of the UAE State, its people and its heroic soldiers.
Sheikh Khalifa Ben Tahnoun Ben Mohammed Al Nahyan, during a tour of the Oasis by Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk, gave extensive explanations about its dependencies which symbolize the heroism and sacrifices made by the brave sons of the United Arab Emirates and which reflect the many noble national meanings and values
Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk concluded his tour with a note in the visitors’ book expressing his appreciation for the heroism and sacrifices of the martyrs of the UAE.
