The opening of a general consulate of Bahrain in the Moroccan city of Laayoune is a historic and strategic step in the solid and prosperous relations at all levels between the two brotherly countries, said, Wednesday, the under-secretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Rana Bent Issa Ben Daij Al Khalifa.
During a meeting with the Moroccan ambassador to Bahrain, Mustapha Benkhiyi, the Bahraini official stressed that the opening of this consulate general reflects the constant position of the Kingdom of Bahrain supporting the Kingdom of Morocco, its security, stability, sovereignty and rights.
The opening of this consular representation in Laayoune will give a strong impetus to the ongoing efforts of the two brotherly countries, she added, noting that the objective is to move forward in the various aspects of joint cooperation and further develop coordination on various regional and international issues to serve the interests of both countries and to meet the aspirations of both peoples for greater progress and prosperity.
She expressed the pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of HH Hamad Ben Issa Al Khalifa, in the strong fraternal relations between the two brotherly Kingdoms.
For his part, the Moroccan ambassador in Manama was keen to stress the Kingdom of Morocco’s permanent commitment to strengthening the strong fraternal relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the high esteem of Morocco for the constant fraternal positions of the Kingdom of Bahrain in support of the Kingdom of Morocco, which reflects the depth and solidity of relations between the two brotherly countries.
On this occasion, he highlighted the role of Bahrain in the development of joint Arab action and the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
