The National Foundation of Museums of Morocco (FNM) has provided 6 million dirhams from its own budget to support the visual arts and visual artists affected by the crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The initiative aims to acquire a set of works by Moroccan visual artists that will join the existing collections of the Mohammed VI Museum and those of the National Museum of Photography, officially inaugurated in January in Rabat. An independent scientific committee, with experts and artists, will be set up for the occasion. Several figures of the art world will be able to take part, including Mohamed el Baz, Mohamed Melehi, Fouad Bellamine, Meryem Sebti, Abdelaziz El Idrissi and Safaa Erruas.
The Foundation, which will make the Moroccan art and heritage its priority in the upcoming program, announces that all its museums will organize events dedicated to Moroccan heritage and artists.
