Over 300 measures have been implemented by Morocco as part of its comprehensive, anticipatory and proactive approach to fight against the spread of Covid-19 and its disastrous effects.
Immediately following the first confirmed case in Morocco, the government, following royal instructions, gave priority to the health and safety of its citizens. This approach was developed as the situation evolved and immediately reinforced by the creation, on royal instructions, of the Special Fund dedicated to the management of the pandemic crisis, the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghrebia recalled in its weekend edition of 2 and 3 May.
Accordingly, support and assistance have been provided to vulnerable categories and those affected by this pandemic. In particular, underprivileged families with or without the RAMED card have received financial support depending on the size of the household. The aid, recalls the daily, is 800 dirhams (81.4 USD) for households of two persons or less, 1,000 dirhams (102 USD) for households composed of three to four persons and 1,200 dirhams (122 USD) for households with more than four persons.
In the same trend, a fixed allowance of MAD 2,000 was granted to employees declared to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) who lost their jobs due to this crisis. In other words, the Economic Intelligence Committee (CVE) has detected the full extent of the problem of precariousness to better combat it and support the national economy.
Simultaneously, measures to support the implementation of the state of health emergency and general containment have been taken, whether in terms of continuing the process of e-learning, vocational training, providing continuity of the main public services as well as continuous and sufficient supply of basic products to the markets.
In fact, emphasizes the daily, all the efforts made by Morocco in this extraordinary period are aimed mainly at vulnerable categories and the most affected groups and enterprises from a perspective of solidarity. Moreover, the current assessment of the health situation so far confirms the relevance of the proactive measures undertaken by Morocco to mitigate the effects of this pandemic.
